Groomsmen Gift

Groomsmen have it easy at weddings. They get to show up and party. Even still, I thought sending a formal ask gift would be a nice gesture.

Copper Wood Print

The direction my fiance said was he wanted it to look like a rusted axe. I drafted up a couple comps along the 'rusted axe' feel. I also drafts a couple comps that fit our venue. My bridesmaid gifts fit our wedding style rather well. It was hard to get these masculine pieces to fit within that style too. The special gift for his groomsmen he wanted was as a cigar. We had a small budget for this project. As this is just the ask to be part of the wedding, we were waiting for the end of the wedding to provide a real nice gift. This was to be more efficient and providing details for the groomsmen.

My first comp was a wood texture foil printed on charcoal paper. I thought this was a good way to interpret 'rusted axe. It's masculine, modern and a masculine elegance about it as well. Although it is nice, Kenny like the other comp better.

New Style of Wood Print

With our wedding style being a mixture of nature and geometry, I thought this layout conveyed both. We chose to use a postal box mostly for cost saving. I do think the box has a nice utilitarian aspect to it. For the card, I found thin sheet of wood that I ran through a copier.  The type was chosen to give the masculine tone. The back gives details about the who, where and why. I included an envelope for the guys that gave photos for their attire, and the wedding location pics. I decided to keep a neutral tone through the box stuffing and envelope paper.

Altogether, I think the style and texture of the piece came together really well, and glad it finally went out!
